TransAsia Airways Flight GE222 Crash Landing In Taiwan

Plane crashes in emergency landing, killing 47 people, injuring 11. The TransAsia Airways F light GE222, a twin-engine turboprop ATR 72 was reportedly trying to make an emergency landing.

The flight took off from Kaohsiung Siaogang Airport in Taiwan at about 5 p.m. local time and was flying to Penghu’s Magong Airport, according to the South China Morning Post. The plane reportedly crashed into residential buildings on its way down.

Bad weather is attributed to the crash landing as a storm passes by the vicinity of Taiwan and China.

Elsewhere, first 40 bodies from a total of 298 passengers of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 that was shot down in Eastern Ukraine have arrived in the Netherlands. Air force planes from the Netherlands and Australia carried the bodies from Ukraine. Families of the victims gather on the tarmac as they await while the remains were unloaded hoping one of their love ones are/is one of those bodies who arrived and to be identified later on.

Separatists claim they placed 282 complete corpses and body parts from 16 others on board refrigerated morgue train. But Dutch officials claim they counted only 200 victims, meaning a third of MH17's passengers may still be missing. Today MH17's black boxes were delivered to the Air Accidents Investigation Branch base in Farnborough, Hampshire.
