Leap Of Faith

Leap Of Faith

A leap of faith, in its most commonly used meaning, is the act of believing in or accepting something intangible or unprovable, or without empirical evidence. It is an act commonly associated with performing and or executing a planned task with no clear result but expects or hopes for the outcome to be in favor of the person who performs the act. It is also an act commonly associated with religious belief as many religions consider faith to be an essential element of piety. But let's not get into the aspect of religion since faith equals many religions and beliefs.

Dedication

Dedication

Dedication can be defined depending on one's mindset and purpose. Regardless of the medium or form used to show it, defining it would depend on an individual alone. Sure there are a lot of ways to show it but there are a lot of thing to consider and weigh in taking it to one’s own self. Dedication is influenced by the condition of the mind, body, environment, emotion and values one embodies not to mention the obstacles that lay on the way.

The Alpha Male

The Pack Leader

This man doesn't use a leash when he roams the streets with his pack of dogs and the control this man has over his dogs will astound you. It takes a lot of trust and training to be able to attain this level of leadership with your pack of pups. I know they seem under control, but I'm not so sure how responsible this tactic is.

Exposure

Exposure

Teaching and sharing our God given knowledge, skills and talents may sometimes be challenging specially when most of your audience is older than you and you might want to consider things about them. This is something I'm not good at nor would like to do regularly.

Unannounced

Unannounced

What breaks your daily routine, expectations, and plans would always come in a surprise. You can be caught with your pants down or bare-footed and your initial reaction would be either frozen during that time, disbelief, shocked or simply awed like hearing the sound of a big bang or an empty glass or breakable household wares falling to the ground followed by a deafening silence.

Eating The Young

Knowledge Is Power

What's the best way to teach people about skills, values, knowledge, self dicipline and responsibility than at a young age. But its a bit different in teaching adults from that of the kids. Yes, most of us maybe raised by loving parents, schooled in universities, well educated and has a degree in the field of our choice. That having been said, would anyone care to accept things he/she finds new and outside of the norm one has been used to. From rules to interaction with the things and people around you to anything that might test your knowledge, values and capabilities as a human, as a professional and as an individual.

Search and Rescue

First of all, this has nothing to do with religion but only the faith among brothers. Yes, I am not religous but I do believe in a higher power, the Almighty. This is not about me but about my team, my friends, my brothers.

24th Hour

24th Hour

It has been eight months since I arrived here at Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory to work as one of the Dispatch personnel for the Fire and Emergency Services. At first, things are kinda new to me. I have to get familiar with the protocols, SOP's and technology used. I have worked for a similar local agency back home then, but as soon as I recall the procedures, I got used to the new system in no time.

Nothing is more fulfilling in a volunteer’s experience other than successfully executing and completing a task and or a mission with the most of positive result and the prevention of the loss of human life. But as these experience and success piles up in a volunteer’s record of effectiveness, so as the stress that takes its toll in each volunteer individually. I say individually because of what I notice, it affects us in different aspects of our everyday life, whether it be during our volunteer hours or even as an individual.

First Responder

First Responders

It was a lazy afternoon, I can't recall much of the date but it was a week after Baguio City and its neighboring provinces were devastated by Typhoon Cosme. We just finished a week of clearing operations around the city and we were back in the base where most of us probably chill or should I say "tambay" since there's not much activity during that day. As one of the volunteers, we tried to make our selves busy with reports and the like about our clearing operations and the incident reported and responded by my team.
